Kapai

Brewer: Tuatara  (website)

Type of beer: Pale Ale
ABV: 5.8%    IBU: 46

Consumed at Cape Reinga, New Zealand on October 4th, 2017.

Brewer’s Blurb:
Back in the day, our US supply of APA hops went up in smoke, literally. So rather than inciting a riot, we turned to some home grown cones as a temporary fix. This unwittingly resulted in the evolution of Tuatara's Aotearoa Pale Ale. One to rival its American counterpart. With citrus flavours and full hop finish, the result was Kapai.

Embracing the 100% kiwiness of our Aotearoa Pale Ale, we have recently renamed this brew as KAPAI, encapsulating the true character of the beer.

Michael’s Notes:
The 2nd of a "variety pack" of six Tuatara beers. Drank it while cooking for the first time from our little gas stove, which took an hour to boil water.
